I LOVE opportunity and possibilities. So much so, that as an undergrad, the Career Center Director asked me: “Mary, what do you want to do?”
I smiled and told the Career Center Director that I wanted her job. And the rest, they say is history.
Fast forward through 15+ years of grad school, career counseling experience and numerous career counseling roles in a variety of settings and you have found me here, owner and Career Counselor behind MK Career Designs – a career counseling practice dedicated to positioning savvy professionals for success.
It is my privilege to come alongside my clients as they strive to open doors to new opportunities and exceed their career goals.
I have my M.S. in Asking Great Questions (a.k.a.- Career Counseling!) and earned my Global Career Development Facilitator certification. What does that mean? Throughout my years as a career counselor, I have asked lots of questions to help my client’s identify their goals and navigate their career search and get the position they want. Sometimes the questions are easy, sometimes they are tough, but EVERY time, my clients have experienced clarity, confidence and numerous “Ah Ha!” moments that propel them to forward to their goal.
I LOVE speaking (read: encouraging ⇒ clarifying ⇒ empowering) individuals and groups about every career development and job-readiness topic. (So much so, that I pour much more content into my presentations than most.)
When I am not working with clients, I am CEO of my family of 5. You can find me chauffeuring my 3 kids, enjoying a good book or training for another 1/2 marathon.
